LOVE LESSONS
From 'Live For Life' compilation album (various artists - 1986)
There was an ambush in the park
Left me standing
Took my heart
A sudden look and a feeling of surprise
The girl I knew had changed before my eyes
So
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to touch her?
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to hold her?
She'll want some guy who's grown up and cool
They never taught me 'bout that in school
I had to touch her so I threw her in the pool
Now everybody knows that I'm her fool
So
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to touch her?
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to hold her?
hold her... hold her... hold her...
Instead of lessons in French and maths
I gotta learn about romance
I know so much but girls are hard to understand
So
where can I… where can I… where can I
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to touch her?
where can I learn about love?
where can I learn how to hold her?
hold her... hold her … hold her
I have the impression that Stewart likes making a joke of everything, even of such a serious matter as love! Maybe there’s something true beyond his irony in the following verse from Does Everyone Stare: “… I'm so used to laughing at the things in my heart”.
Of course I’m just speculating! Unfortunately, I don’t know Stewart personally but if I did I would probably speculate all the same: you can try to analyze a song but you can never be sure to understand it completely because it always interact with the listener. That’s why I would be happy to know your opinion on the matter!
Bye everybody, take care!
