Flag-Spotting / Keep your pants* on, NUTTERS!!!

Postby DirtyMartini on 19 Aug 2008 16:34

I see from my emails and texts that folks are itching to hear about a flag, especially today. (Pecos . . . ) So here's the news as we know it:

The News From Last Week (as previously mentioned elsewhere):
At least as of Monday evening, a ratty green flag had been spotted (and likely pointed at) in a studio in the state of California, its gong-awful shade of green visually polluting the elegant earth tones of the surrounding decor.
Update For This Week:
Team Copeland is in the process of securing a suitable outfit/method of display for said flag. I expect that this will take a bit of time: the Flag is two-faced (duplicitous bastard) and isn't an easy size to fit, having been built to the seldom-standardized "uh, this looks good" measuring system.

The Eagle has landed; now it needs to find some pants.*

When Team Copeland is ready to share photographic evidence, I expect that art will be released. In the meantime, please be patient, Flagophiles, and give them some space to recover from that big ol' Tourzilla road trip.

And please join me in sending out thanks to the magnificent Melisa for attending to the biohazardous details on behalf of the Krypton Glory.

Thank you for the hard work, Melisa, and please remember to wash your hands. Your immune system will thank you for it -- and Stewart will have my head if his team starts dropping like flies.

THANK YOU, MELISA!!!

Thank you, everyone.

* Feel free to translate "pants" into American or British. Both will work just fine.

No problems, I can wait. With or without pants.

It's nice to see a new Flag Spotting thread around here.

I wish we still had Backstage Cafe :(
I can see it hanging above the bar as the nutters toasted tequilla shots to it and bowed before it.

Now the flag needs to travel everywhere Stewart goes with pictures of it at places like The Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, the Pyramids....you know...like the gnome.

Ditto.

But as it is we're climbing up an endless wall.

Could somebody enlighten the non-US-Brit natives about the duplicitous meaning of "pants" other than the obvious one?

8) Coolo!

I figured The Man would do it on his schedule.

In the meantime, couldn't we start a flag gallery? A lot of people have pics of themselves with the flag. Would be kind of nice to see them all in one place.

I believe they are trying to outfit it... with a frame or whatever method of display.

Thanks for letting us know, DM & Melisa!

Oh...so that both sides can be visible?? :?: :?

Glad the team is crowning the Flag's journey with this kind of endeavor. It seems quite tricky!! 8)

They could frame it between glass and put it on a pedestal with lights and a motor to spin it :D

DM's got a Smugmug gallery of various Flag activities but for some reason I can't find the link. Anyone?

Why am I picturing le drapeau vert all tarted up in some sort of gold ornate monstrosity?
