EQ's latest bump seems like a good time to bring you all some news about the Leroy Coolbreeze Fund for the Melanoma International Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of this community, contributions to the Fund now total...drum roll, please...$5500! Even better, new donations continue being made each week, which is just awesome!

What a GREAT group of people!! You make me so proud to be part of you all!

Interestingly enough, I was just on the phone with my dr today. She just happened to call me to tell me she wanted to recommend a great dermatologist to see. She is very nice and felt it was her duty to inform me of such information since I am a redhead and fair skin. This Nevada sun is not good for you my dear, she said. You are a good girl for wearing sunscreen. Make sure you start wearing a hat she told me. I told her I will do that.

I told her about this Leroy Coolbreeze thing. She told me that it is awesome that our group is bringing awareness to Melanoma. My dr told me that It is one of the most Underrated cancers out there and not many people know about it or understand it even here in Nevada...the desert of all places. She wishes more people would be more informed.

Help MIF celebrate their 5th anniversary on Friday, October 17th, by hosting a coffee break at your home, place of business or local coffee shop. Join MIF in remembering what they have accomplished and looking forward to what the future holds. The celebration is simple.

Hey all! I'm doing a big-ass bike ride this weekend, and would like to use it as a motivator to revive our charitable activity with the Leroy Coolbreeze Fund at the Melanoma International Foundation. My husband and I are doing the Tour of the Mississippi River Valley ride this weekend:

106 miles on Saturday, 90 miles on Sunday ... the jury is still out on how much of it I'll actually finish, but I'm gunning for all of it !

And yes, I'll be swathed in SPF 70 sunscreen. We recently passed the anniversary of Ian's death, and I'm going to keep him in mind as I pedal this weekend.

Thanks! I can't believe you remember my gravel fiasco . The scars have almost faded. But I won't revive them this weekend!
