Squeeze, "Black Coffee", on our local HD radio alternarock station (which is heavy on the 80s - heard "J'aurais Toujours Faim de Toi" about a half hour ago)... I have to wonder if I'm the only person listening to it, though. No commercials, no DJs...it's bliss actually
I'm listening to Wave which is our local station also heavy on the 80's.

I like the DJ banter but could well do without all the adverts, that would be bliss.

Not that Earl Slick isn't great, but man that would have been something if SRV actually had gone out with Bowie to tour Let's Dance. There's some real signature licks on that album, my favourite being Cat People.

Finally checking out Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto" this afternoon...I know a lot of folks hate on them (and omg the album title...yeah let's not be cheeky about things) but I have a soft spot for (some of) their stuff. When I'm in the right mood for it.

My first night out after my daughter was born was going to see David Bowie at the Milton Keynes Bowl which was in 1990 so I reckon that must have been the Sound and Vision tour.

That man gave damn good live shows in them days!

Now I'm off to find the Serious Moonlight rehersals. Got to be worth a listen.

Sockii, I hope you don't think I was speaking of you

"Wasteland of the Free" by the mighty Iris DeMent...if I had one personal anthem, it might well be this one. Just got tix to see her play April 19th - woot!

Wasteland of The Free - Iris DeMent

We got preachers dealing in politics and diamond mines
and their speech is growing increasingly unkind
They say they are Christ's disciples
but they don't look like Jesus to me
and it feels like I am living in the wasteland of the free

We got politicians running races on corporate cash
Now don't tell me they don't turn around and kiss them peoples' ass
You may call me old-fashioned
but that don't fit my picture of a true democracy
and it feels like I am living in the wasteland of the free

etc
On Google - site:stewartcopeland.net "your keyword here" - thanks DM!!
